Cradle Mountain Accommodation

 Despite its relatively remote setting, Cradle Mountain offers an abundance of accommodation options to suit all budgets. You’ll find everything from tent-friendly campsites to luxury lodges and self-contained cabins.

 Below is a selection of accommodation on the road leading to Cradle Mountain (within five minutes’ drive of the Visitor Centre), although there are many more choices available further afield in the towns of Sheffield and Mole Creek.

 Cradle Mountain Hotel
Offering around 60 comfortable and contemporary rooms, this alpine-themed hotel has been designed with lots of wood and glass for an earthy feel. Buffet breakfasts and hearty meals are served at the onsite Altitude Restaurant while The Retreat offers indulgent spa sessions after a long day exploring the Tasmanian wilderness.

 Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge
Offering luxurious accommodation on the edge of Pencil Pine Creek, this family-friendly lodge lies at the starting point of the Enchanted Walk. It boasts two restaurants (Highland Restaurant and Tavern Bar & Bistro) and a convivial fireside lounge, as well as the pampering Waldheim Spa.  

Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village
Select between a family-friendly cabin or luxurious spa chalet at the Wilderness Village, which is located within walking distance of the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre. Each cabin comes complete with a kitchen so you can prepare your own meals or you can dine on chef-prepared fare at Hellyers Restaurant. Also onsite is a bar and pool table.

 Cradle Mountain Highlanders
This family-run hotel features 16 self-contained and hand-built cabins just five minutes’ walk from the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre. They cater to both couples and families, with fully-equipped kitchens and wood-burning stoves. All of the cabins offer magnificent views of the surrounding wilderness.

Cradle Mountain Discovery Holiday Park 
Featuring rustic cabins, a backpacker-friendly dormitory, plus tent camping and powered sites, the Discovery Holiday Park is the best budget accommodation option at Cradle Mountain. There’s a camp kitchen with barbecue facilities onsite, plus a laundry and nearby petrol station. The Discovery Holiday Park is within walking distance of the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre and Hellyers Restaurant.
